Mainboard-listed Sincere Watch Limited ("Sincere Watch" or "the Group"), the premier watch specialist in the region today announced that its Group Managing Director, Mr Tay Liam Wee has been honored with the Singapore Tourism Board's Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2006.
He will be receiving the award this evening for his role in reinforcing Singapore's position as the regional luxury watch hub and for helping to put Singapore on the map in the world of horology through innovative luxury watch retail concepts.
This is the latest national accolade for Mr Tay who in 2004 won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Singapore Award and the Lifestyle and Retail Entrepreneur of the Year award.
A visionary watch retailer, Mr Tay consistently seeks innovative and creative ways to cater to the premium segment of tourists and enhance their overall shopping experience.
He was instrumental in getting Sincere Watch appointed to open the first Vacheron Constantin boutique in Singapore in July 2005 which is one of the only two of such boutiques in the region and a reflection of his commitment to strengthen Singapore's status as a watch hub.
To further develop a better understanding of watches amongst watch buyers in this region, he will soon be launching the Sincere Watch Academy here.
Mr Tay is also instrumental in steering the group's regional expansion and propelling Sincere Watch to an acclaimed international brand name.
